As you can see from our chart, the news on the job front this month has been almost universally bad. Not only are the majority of our industry segments in the red, but the composite Index score suffered a significant drop this month.

Our overall average job market score dropped to 3.0, reaching a level that we would consider to be nearing historical lows. If the overall job market continues to decline much further from here, we could be reaching back to recession-type levels.

It could be argued that the overall job-market has never left recession, despite the strides the larger economy has made.

From nearly every writer, we heard that clients were blaming a possible war. Wary companies may begin to hold off on hiring for a while until the situation in Iraq reaches some sort of firm conclusion. The declines we see this month may reflect the beginning of this "wait and see" period.

The above reporting is taken from polled evidence and personal impressions, collected from the career professionals at ResumeWriters.com.
